Getting to our workshop from Salford
From Salford, the most direct routes cross north Manchester via the A6 and the inner ring road or use the A576 and Middleton Road. From further out — Eccles, Swinton or Walkden — the M60 eastbound is often the simplest route around the north of the city.
Salford's mix of city-centre traffic, MediaCityUK commuting and busy ring roads means many diesels there spend a lot of time in stop-start conditions. That makes DPF regeneration harder, and we often see Salford vans and cars with recurring DPF warnings that need diagnosis rather than a quick fix.
Services for Salford drivers
Most enquiries from Salford fall into two groups. The first is remapping — Stage 1 on standard vehicles, Stage 2 where hardware and condition allow, and gearbox (TCU) calibrations on supported automatics. The second is diesel faults: DPF warning lights, limp mode, EGR problems and AdBlue countdown warnings. In both cases we start with the vehicle's registration and condition, and we explain what we find before quoting.

If your vehicle is not safe to drive from Salford
A vehicle in limp mode, with an AdBlue countdown close to zero, a flashing warning or a suspected coolant leak may not be sensible to drive across Greater Manchester. Call or WhatsApp us first with the symptoms. We can talk through whether a careful drive is reasonable or whether you should arrange transport. We do not collect vehicles ourselves, but we can tell you what to say to a recovery or transport provider so the vehicle arrives ready for diagnosis.
What to send us before booking remapping from Salford
The quickest way to get useful advice is to send the registration and a short description by WhatsApp or through the quote form. Support and suitability vary by engine, gearbox, control unit and software version, so a registration lets us check the right information instead of guessing. Any estimate given remotely is provisional until the vehicle has been seen and the required checks are complete.
- 01Vehicle registration and approximate mileage
- 02Make, model and engine size, if known
- 03Any warning lights, messages, symptoms or fault codes
- 04Existing remaps, tuning boxes or hardware modifications
- 05How the vehicle is used — commuting, towing, short trips or heavy loads
- 06Whether the vehicle is currently in limp mode or will not start
Visiting the workshop for customers from Salford
All work is carried out at our single workshop at Unit 2, Lancaster Works, Kingsbridge Road, Manchester M9 5SP. We do not run a mobile remapping service and we have no other branches, so every customers from Salford enquiry is booked into the same Manchester workshop. Visits are by arrangement: please call or WhatsApp before travelling so we can confirm the vehicle, the time and what the visit will involve.
Access is through the black gate. Call when you arrive so we can let you in, then keep left towards the rear of the site. We are open Monday to Friday 8am–6pm and Saturday 8am–1pm, and closed on Sunday. If the vehicle is in limp mode, showing a serious warning or will not start, tell us before setting off so we can talk about whether it is sensible to drive it or whether transport should be arranged.
