ECU remapping and DPF help for Trafford drivers

If you are based in Trafford, our workshop at Unit 2, Lancaster Works, Kingsbridge Road, Manchester M9 5SP is roughly 8–10 miles away, usually around 25–40 minutes depending on where in Trafford you start. We are a single Manchester workshop with no branch in Trafford, and we do not offer mobile remapping — Trafford customers bring their vehicles to us by arrangement.

We handle ECU and gearbox remapping enquiries, DPF cleaning and diagnostics, limp mode, EGR and AdBlue fault diagnosis for cars and vans, with the same suitability-first approach for every customer.

Getting to our workshop from Trafford

From Stretford, Urmston, Sale or Altrincham, the M60 anticlockwise around the west and north of Manchester is usually the simplest route, leaving for north Manchester. From Old Trafford and Stretford, crossing the city centre is shorter in distance but often slower.

Trafford takes in Trafford Park's industrial estates as well as residential areas like Sale and Altrincham, so we hear from van operators doing short industrial runs and car owners who commute on the M60 and M56. Short industrial trips in particular can make DPF regeneration difficult.

Services for Trafford drivers

Most enquiries from Trafford fall into two groups. The first is remapping — Stage 1 on standard vehicles, Stage 2 where hardware and condition allow, and gearbox (TCU) calibrations on supported automatics. The second is diesel faults: DPF warning lights, limp mode, EGR problems and AdBlue countdown warnings. In both cases we start with the vehicle's registration and condition, and we explain what we find before quoting.

If your vehicle is not safe to drive from Trafford

A vehicle in limp mode, with an AdBlue countdown close to zero, a flashing warning or a suspected coolant leak may not be sensible to drive across Greater Manchester. Call or WhatsApp us first with the symptoms. We can talk through whether a careful drive is reasonable or whether you should arrange transport. We do not collect vehicles ourselves, but we can tell you what to say to a recovery or transport provider so the vehicle arrives ready for diagnosis.

What to send us before booking remapping from Trafford

The quickest way to get useful advice is to send the registration and a short description by WhatsApp or through the quote form. Support and suitability vary by engine, gearbox, control unit and software version, so a registration lets us check the right information instead of guessing. Any estimate given remotely is provisional until the vehicle has been seen and the required checks are complete.

  • 01Vehicle registration and approximate mileage
  • 02Make, model and engine size, if known
  • 03Any warning lights, messages, symptoms or fault codes
  • 04Existing remaps, tuning boxes or hardware modifications
  • 05How the vehicle is used — commuting, towing, short trips or heavy loads
  • 06Whether the vehicle is currently in limp mode or will not start
