Travelling from Nottingham to Manchester
From Nottingham, drivers usually take the M1 north and the M62 west, or head through Derby and the A6/A50 towards the M6 and M60. Both routes have congestion hot spots.
Check traffic before choosing a route, as the M1 and Peak District roads can both be slow.
What we can help with
Our work centres on ECU and gearbox remapping for suitable cars and vans, and on diesel fault diagnosis — DPF cleaning and diagnostics, limp mode, EGR and AdBlue faults. For remapping we check suitability and condition first; for faults we diagnose before recommending any repair.

Planning the journey for Nottingham customers
We are one workshop in north Manchester. We do not have branches elsewhere in the UK and we do not offer mobile remapping, so Nottingham customers either drive to us or arrange transport. That is a real commitment, and we do not want anyone to make a long journey for work that turns out to be unsuitable. Send the registration, mileage and a description first; we will check support and talk through the likely scope before you book a date.
For a longer journey, please plan the timing with us. A remap or diagnostic visit can take several hours depending on the vehicle and what the checks reveal, and some work may not be completed in a single day if a fault is found. If the vehicle has a fault that makes a long drive unwise — limp mode, a flashing warning, an AdBlue countdown near zero or a coolant leak — arrange transport rather than driving it.
Should Nottingham drivers use a local specialist instead?
Possibly — and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. There may well be good remapping and diagnostic specialists closer to Nottingham. Drivers who choose to travel to us usually do so because they want a diagnostics-led, condition-first approach and clear explanations before any work, or because they already know us. If you do look locally, ask any specialist the same questions: will they check the vehicle's health first, will they save the original software, and will they keep the emissions equipment in place?
What to send us before booking a trip from Nottingham
The quickest way to get useful advice is to send the registration and a short description by WhatsApp or through the quote form. Support and suitability vary by engine, gearbox, control unit and software version, so a registration lets us check the right information instead of guessing. Any estimate given remotely is provisional until the vehicle has been seen and the required checks are complete.
- 01Vehicle registration and approximate mileage
- 02Make, model and engine size, if known
- 03Any warning lights, messages, symptoms or fault codes
- 04Existing remaps, tuning boxes or hardware modifications
- 05How the vehicle is used — commuting, towing, short trips or heavy loads
- 06Whether the vehicle is currently in limp mode or will not start
Visiting the workshop for customers travelling from Nottingham
All work is carried out at our single workshop at Unit 2, Lancaster Works, Kingsbridge Road, Manchester M9 5SP. We do not run a mobile remapping service and we have no other branches, so every customers travelling from Nottingham enquiry is booked into the same Manchester workshop. Visits are by arrangement: please call or WhatsApp before travelling so we can confirm the vehicle, the time and what the visit will involve.
Access is through the black gate. Call when you arrive so we can let you in, then keep left towards the rear of the site. We are open Monday to Friday 8am–6pm and Saturday 8am–1pm, and closed on Sunday. If the vehicle is in limp mode, showing a serious warning or will not start, tell us before setting off so we can talk about whether it is sensible to drive it or whether transport should be arranged.
